5 second overlap on recordings

Postby flfraze on Tue Jan 26, 2010 8:02 pm

When I record a station using Spider 2.3.11, the last 5 seconds of every song is chopped off and added to the beginning of the next song that is recorded. This happens no matter what station I am recording. It's very consistant/repeatable and quite annoying.

I have tried tweeking the buffer settings but nothing seems to make a difference. Has anyone experienced this and have a suggestion? I've scanned the forums but see no mention of it....maybe not looking closely enough.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This is because many radio stations change stream title a few seconds before next track starts. There is no reliable alternative way to find out the beginning of a new track other than watching for title changes.

Thanks for the informative info/reply.

Guess there's no way to sense that stream title change and wait for silence (between songs) THEN stop & restart the recording process...?

Thanks again for the help...I've been racking my brain trying to figure that out.

No problem. Workarounds are probably possible, but hardly reliable.
