What a great audio player: small, uses little memory, looks nice and there's no ads or goofy stuff. Just love it.

Hi there! I've just found out about the Performance Tuning project which aim is to make the existing open source software multi-threaded and thus utilize modern CPUs more effectively.

Performance increase for optimized version of Lame is claimed to be up to 70% when using variable bitrate MP3 encoding!

Here is a link to the project's page which contains links to Lame, FAAC, Ogg Vorbis and some other optimized encoders.

You can use any of those encoders with Spider Player by just replacing the existing ones (in the program's root folder, which is "C:\Program Files\Spider Player" by default) with their optimized versions.
Or by checking the "Use custom encoder" feature on the Converter tab of the Options dialog and specifying the encoder and its command line options.
